Sound policy-making in healthcare never loses sight of everyone ultimately impacted by it. My goal at Acumen is to drive meaningful change that impacts all levels of the healthcare system, and work towards a healthier Europe.
Even during his bachelor’s in Medicine, Jonathan started developing a passion for EU health policy and law. He turned this passion into action by changing the course of his academic trajectory toward the European Master in Health Economics and management. During this Master’s he attended three different universities in the EU, which gave him thorough insight into the workings of multiple European health systems. His main focus during this program was the management of healthcare institutions, next to an emphasis on EU health law, policy and ethics. As a consequence of his practical background in medicine, he is always considerate of how policy and management decisions impact stakeholders at all levels. In his work, he strives to always keep patients’ and providers’ interests in mind. He further developed this people-oriented mindset during his internships as a consultant in the Belgian healthcare system, where he engaged with a wide spectrum of stakeholders. By specifically focusing on the challenge of real value-creation in healthcare, he got motivated to use this experience to have a meaningful impact on the European health landscape.
