Technology touches every aspect of how we live, work, and interact and the rules we build around it will define what that looks like for years to come. Supporting clients navigate what that means for them is what makes this work meaningful
Florentina built a career at the intersection of law, policy, and direct real-world impact. She is especially drawn to the way technology is governed and what the rules we build around it mean for the clients it affects.
Before joining Acumen, she advised the Dutch Legal Aid Board on the development and compliance of a legal tech tool. Her work covered design and ensuring regulatory compliance with the EU AI Act and GDPR, building direct experience of how the tech policy files apply in practice.
Prior to her move into tech policy, Florentina spent several years at an intergovernmental organisation in Bangkok, coordinating policy across Asia-Pacific governments. She managed multilateral dialogues, produced briefings for ministerial-level officials, and supported the development of regional frameworks across a broad range of government stakeholders. She began her career as a Refugee Status Determination Officer in Malaysia, advising on individual cases under international refugee law. Both experiences ground her understanding for how policy translates into practice across diverse legal and political environments. She brings this perspective in her work on tech policy at Acumen.
Florentina holds an LL.M. in Law & Technology with a specialisation in AI Governance from Erasmus University Rotterdam, an LL.M. in International Law & Security from the University of Glasgow and a Bachelors in International Studies from Leiden University. A native Romanian speaker, she is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of French.
