As a founding partner, Elaine Cruikshanks has driven Acumen from promising start-up to a leading boutique agency in public affairs. After years spent in network agencies, including as European CEO of Hill & Knowlton Brussels and Global Head of Public Affairs, she co-founded Acumen to offer clients more hands-on senior counsel with the highest quality execution. And that is exactly what she has done.

Drawing on over 30 years of experience in the business, Elaine attracts expert talent to Acumen and clients looking for bold, break-through policy solutions. She provides senior counsel across all our policy areas from healthcare and the environment to digital and trade. Elaine is known for her intellectual rigour and her tenacity. One of her proudest moments was celebrating Acumen’s 10-year anniversary with our exceptional team that has become so highly trusted and valued by our blue-chip clients.

In 2018, Elaine was named to the “Best in Brussels”, an annual ranking of the top 50 public affairs professionals in Europe. She was a long time Board Member of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU, and a Council Member to the British Chamber of Commerce. She started her career with the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and served in the UK Representation to the EU.
